Reading books can sometimes open your eyes to new perspective, one you haven’t noticed before. It happened to me at the beginning of this year when I read a book which changed my view on rapid, big changes vs very small incremental steps of improvements. I wanted to share it with you. I never heard before about Kaizen way but I really like the concept. So, lets look at that. Can one small step really change your life? How small is small? What is really the Kaizen way?
Creative visualization is an amazing and highly powerful mental technique which involves use of imagination to achieve a desired outcome. Basically, you imagine yourself doing things you want to do, or being what you want to be, successfully achieving it. Although it would seem as daydreaming, visualization is a more conscious action, with structure and intention involvement. In my previous article, I focused on the explanation of creative visualization principles. In this post, I would like to look into some more practical aspects of it- steps for effective creative visualization or so called “how to” guide.
How many times you had a dream during a night sleep (or even a daydream) in which your life was perfect? Everything seems to be like you wanted, you felt relaxed, in control and powerful. It felt easy, in flow, how it supposed to be. It was only a dream, you would say… But it doesn’t need to be! What if you could harness the power of your mind and create this perfect life of your dreams?! This is what creative visualization is about. Using your imagination and involving all your senses, you can create in your mind a perfect image of whatever you desire and bring it to your life.
Wheel of life is a great exercise and an amazing self-assessment tool to help you better examine each area of your life and assess what is off balance and identify areas that need more attention. This technique is used widely in life coaching. It is also a great starting point to goals setting and reviewing your priorities.
How do you use Wheel of Life
The purpose of Wheel of Life is to identify how you are currently dividing your time between different things and how happy and satisfied you are in the those spheres of your life. Ideally we would like to have a balance between different areas of our life but it is not always a case. So many of us spends too much time at work and there is not enough time left for family pleasures or simply me-time, etc.
Without setting up your goals, you are aimless. Do you really want to live your life like this? Don’t waste your energy on drifting without directions. Imagine you can do and be so much more then you are now. If you can imagine it, then you can do it. Henry Ford said once “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t—you’re right.“- so choose your attitude and thoughts right.
Use your unlimited potential!
In this post I will focus on a power of daily habits, the rituals we all have. Some of them are good and they can help us to become big achievers, some are not and they can really slow down or even completely stop our chance of success. Habits can either benefit or hurt the goals a person sets for themselves.
What is habit?
Based on Wikipedia : “A habit (or wont) is a routine of behavior that is repeated regularly and tends to occur subconsciously. In the American Journal of Psychology (1903) it is defined in this way: “A habit, from the standpoint of psychology, is a more or less fixed way of thinking, willing, or feeling acquired through previous repetition of a mental experience. Habitual behavior often goes unnoticed in persons exhibiting it, because a person does not need to engage in self-analysis when undertaking routine tasks. Habits are sometimes compulsory. The process by which new behaviours become automatic is habit formation. Old habits are hard to break and new habits are hard to form because the behavioural patterns we repeat are imprinted in our neural pathways, but it is possible to form new habits through repetition.”
The skill of setting goals is not that easy for everybody but by following these few simple steps you can make it more achievable. Why not give it a go? Lets look here at how to set goals, or in other words, the art of making your dreams come true!
Whenever you want to achieve something, keep your eyes open, concentrate and make sure you know exactly what it is you want. No one can hit their target with their eyes closed.
