Day to celebrate women – Happy International Women’s Day
Today, 8th of March, is an International Womens day and I would like to bring your attention to every woman in your life. Your mother, sister, girlfriend, wife… It is a day to celebrate them! Well… it should not be just one day in a year… Celebrate them every day, but make today special 🙂
Think about how far we progressed in the recognition of women amazing contribution to our life, culture and politics! We, as a society, can appreciate all the effort and hard work they put in place to be seen, heard and be important. Unfortunately despite all the effort there are still some societies which are behind and women are not treated the way they should be and they are not recognised as equal to men. It is very sad reality and I hope that one day it is only going to be a bad dream from the past.
Another very sad issue is violence against women. It is an issue which is kept rather quiet, people are uncomfortable to talk about and there is a lot of blame put on women. We need to change it and break the silence!!!! Violence in general is wrong! Violence against women is terrible! We need to teach our next generation love not violence! Teach them how to treat woman, appreciate them and celebrate!
Treat your daughters right and help them to grow to amazing, strong and empowered women who will shape next generations! Every woman has a right to become all that she can be and find a place of equality in todays word. Self-love, self-worth and self-esteem -these are the qualities every woman should be able to experience.
Figure out who you are separate from your family, and the man or woman you’re in a relationship with. Find who you are in this world and what you need to feel good alone. I think that’s the most important thing in life. Find a sense of self because with that, you can do anything else.
-Angelina Jolie
As a woman I know that sometimes women put too much on themselves. They have it in their nature to help everybody, fix things, be teachers, carers, chefs, cleaners, superwoman… They so often forget about themselves to fix problems of others. It can lead to becoming overwhelmed and tired. If they cannot get help and feel they are not appreciated it is hard to keep themselves motivated and empowered. Sometimes a small gesture, kiss and a hug can break the ice and wake up the power within them. Women are incredibly strong but they also very emotional. Remember that!
To call woman the weaker sex is a libel; it is man’s injustice to woman. If by strength is meant brute strength, then, indeed, is woman less brute than man. If by strength is meant moral power, then woman is immeasurably man’s superior. Has she not greater intuition, is she not more self-sacrificing, has she not greater powers of endurance, has she not greater courage? Without her, man could not be. If nonviolence is the law of our being, the future is with woman. Who can make a more effective appeal to the heart than woman?
― Mahatma Gandhi
Happy Womens Day to every woman!!! Let’s celebrate every woman in our life! Help them to recognise the power in themselves, self-esteem and find their voices!
A woman is like a tea bag – you can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.

Thanks for visiting my website!
Though I am not woman I like the way you give the feeling that will empower women to do be the best at what they do, whether its being the best mother or doing the best in their career. I like the quote. “Every woman has a right to become all that she can be and find a place of equality in todays word” I think that says it all.
Thanks John for your comment! As a man you can also empower women by giving them support and appreciation!
Thank you for a lovely post. I am just feeling a bit sad today because violence against women in our country is quite bad.
I was listening to the radio this morning and yesterday a 15 year old girl was murdered… on a running trail in Tokai, Cape Town, South Africa. Apparently she was running just 5 minutes ahead of her mom.
I love women empowerment and all… just today it is dampened by that sad event.
Sorry to hear that! It is awful to hear news like that! It is terrible and unacceptable that it is happening! I truly hope it will change one day and we will never hear news like that again!
I love the Eleanor Roosevelt quote! Such a good one!
I love it too 🙂 Isn’t it true? 😉
