March 2016- What is your favourite book featuring Law of Attraction?
March 2016
This month I would like to ask you a question
What is your favourite book featuring the Law of Attraction?
Do you have one favourite one or bunch of them which shaped your idea about this subject? Please share 🙂 It doesn’t need to be “The Secret” 😉 What are your favourite Law of Attraction quotes?
What is the Law of Attraction (LoA)
I’m sure most of you heard about the Law of Attraction. It is a quite popular subject nowadays and even people who are not into self development ideas must have come upon this concept at some point.
Based on the Wikipedia “The law of attraction is the name given to the maxim “like attracts like” which in New Thought philosophy is used to sum up the idea that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts a person brings positive or negative experiences into their life. This belief is based upon the idea that people and their thoughts are both made from “pure energy”, and the belief that like energy attracts like energy.”
It’s in human’s nature to seek for answers about the meaning of life, love, unexpected things or unwanted events. While searching for these answers we unconsciously can attract situations that are offering possibilities to learn and experience the exact thing we are looking for.
The Law of Attraction stresses on the fact that we attract what we think about most. So in other words we are what we think about. The thought is an energy and we attract the same type of energy as we emit. If you are positive and optimistic you can attract good energy.
In one of my favourite books – “Creative Visualization” by Shakti Gawain- I found the best explanation for the above. In the chapter called “How Creative Visualization Works” she writes:
“The scientific world is beginning to discover what metaphysical and spiritual teachers have known for centuries. Our physical universe is not really composed of any “matter” at all; its basic component is kind of force or essence that we call energy.
Things appear to be solid and separate from one another on the level at which our physical senses normally perceive them. On finer level, however, atomic and subatomic levels, seemingly solid matter is seen as smaller and smaller particles within particles, which eventually turn out to be just pure energy.
Physically, we are all energy and everything within and around us is made up of energy. We are all part of one great energy field. Things that we perceive to be solid and separate are in reality just various forms of our essential energy, which is common to all. We are all one, even in literal, physical sense.
The energy is vibrating at different qualities, from finer to denser. Thought is a relatively fine, light form of energy and therefore very quick and easy to change. Matter is relatively dense, compact energy, and therefore slower to move and change. Within matter there is great variation as well. Living flesh is relatively fine, changes quickly, and is easily affected by many things. A rock is a much denser form, slower to change, and more difficult to affect. Yet even rock is eventually changed and affected by the fine, light energy of water, for example. All forms of energy are interrelated and can affect one another.
One law of energy is this: Energy of certain quality or vibration tends to attract energy of similar quality and vibration. Thoughts and feelings have theirs own magnetic energy that attracts energy of a similar nature.”
Isn’t it great explanation? What do you think? I love it!!!

My selection of favourite Law of Attraction quotes
These below are my favourite quotes. From Buddha to modern self development teachers.
Have a read and share your thoughts 🙂
Buddha
“What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow: Our life is the creation of our mind.”
“The thought manifests as the word. The word manifests as the deed. The deed develops into habit. And the habit hardens into character. So watch the thought and its ways with care. And let it spring from love, born out of concern for all beings.”
“What you are is what you have been. Who you will be is what you do now.”
Jack Canfield
“The Law of Attraction states that whatever you focus on, think about, read about, and talk about intensely, you’re going to attract more of into your life.”
Gandhi
“Keep your thoughts positive, because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive, because your words become your behaviours. Keep your behaviours positive, because your behaviours become your habits. Keep your habits positive, because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive, because your values become your destiny.”
“A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks he becomes.”
“We often become what we believe ourselves to be. If I believe I cannot do something, it makes me incapable of doing it. When I believe I can, I acquire the ability to do it, even if I didn’t have it in the beginning.”
Napoleon Hill
“Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything.”
“The vast majority of people are born, grow up, struggle, and go through life in misery and failure, not realizing that it would be just as easy to switch over and get exactly what they want out of life, not recognizing that the mind attracts the thing it dwells upon.”
“Any idea, plan or purpose may be placed in the mind though repetition of thought.”
“Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul, the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.”
Bob Proctor
“Let’s start with what we can be thankful for, and get our mind into that vibration, and then watch the good that starts to come, because one thought leads to another thought.”
Esther and Jerry Hicks
“Every thought that you think is vibrating at a very personal frequency and by the powerful Law of Attraction (the essence of that which is like unto itself, is drawn), that thought is now attracting another thought that is its Vibrational Match. And now, those combined thoughts are vibrating at a frequency that is higher than the thought that came before; and they will now, by the Law of Attraction, attract another and another and another, until eventually the thoughts will be powerful enough to attract a ‘real life’ situation or manifestation.”
Deepak Chopra
“Our intentions attract the elements and forces, the events, the situation, the circumstances and the relationships necessary to fulfill the intended outcome. We don’t need to become involved in the details—in fact, trying too hard may backfire. Let the non-local intelligence synchronize the actions of the universe to fulfill your intentions for you.”
Louise L. Hay
“Every thought we think is creating our future.”
Shakti Gawain
”Every moment of your life is infinitely creative and the universe is endlessly bountiful. Just put forth a clear enough request, and everything your heart desires must come to you.”
James Allen
”Cherish your vision; Cherish your ideals; Cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts. If you remain true to them, your world will at last be built.”
Earl Nightingale
“Here is the key to success, and, the key to failure.
“We become what we think about.”
Let me say that again.
“We become what we think about.”
Throughout history, the great wise men and teachers, philosophers, and prophets have disagreed with one another on many different things. It is only on this one point that they are in complete and unanimous agreement—the key to success and the key to failure is this:
“We become what we think about.””
I hope you enjoyed this month Book Club post 🙂
Please share your thoughts and let me know your favourite Law of Attraction books.
Any ideas for next month Book Club topic?
Thanks for visiting my website 🙂
You have a lot of great information here. I have been researching into books about the Law of Attraction and will definitely be looking into your reviews here.
I myself came about the Secret many years ago and it has been transforming my life. With each new step I take and each new book I read about it I have seen great things happen in my life and I can’t imagine where I would be without all of this great knowledge.
Thanks James, I appreciate your comment! Good luck for your personal development journey!
To be honest I am not really a fun of law of attraction.
I like your articles and your graphics too.
I have Think and Grow Rich and The Science of Getting Rich at home.
Hi Jeff, thanks for your comment! It looks that even without really loving the ideas of Law of Attraction you were anyway attracted to books like “Think and Grow Rich” and “The Science of Getting Rich” which are top LoA books 😉 Thanks for visiting my website!
Great list!
“Think and Grow Rich” is certainly near the top (or AT the top) of my own list. AND “The Power of Intention.”
I’ve certainly heard of “Creative Visualization,” but if I did ever read it, I’ve forgotten it. So I guess it’s time to read it again!
And I do like “The Secret,” though I need help with what to do day to day. Any suggestions for that?
Finally, I was unaware of “The Strangest Secret” and “As A Man Thinketh,” so I’ll have to check those both out.
Awesome list!
Here’s one of my favorite Buddha quotes: “The mind is everything; what you think, you become.”
Hi Roger, I love this quote! I actually used it in one of my post already 🙂 I’m planning to write reviews for “The Strangest Secret” and “As a Man Thinketh” this week so please come back to check it out 🙂 About your question- check my other posts. I hope you can find some answers.
I really liked your post. I loved that book “Creative Visualization” by Shakti Gawain. I have to say that I keep a little notebook of quotes, they aren’t all necessarily inspirational, they are just quotes that I liked, found funny, were inspirational, etc. They have come from all sources, books, magazines, internet, and television shows. One of my favorite quotes is from Frederic Brown. I have no idea who that is. But the quote is “If you want something bad enough, you’ll get it. If you don’t get it, that only goes to show you didn’t want it badly enough.” Another one, oddly enough is by Michael Jordan the once great basketball star, “Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” These are what keep me going.
Thanks Kristen for the great quotes! You just reminded me the fact that as a teenager I used to have a notebook for my favorite quotes from the books I read. I think I need to find it now and look again at what I wrote there 🙂 Thanks for your comments!
Awesome list!!! great research!
All the great thinkers and philosophers had one thing in common that the our mind is the greatest assets of all.
Thanks for your comment Aron! I agree 🙂
