Some of you will ask what self image is. The easiest way to explain it would be to say that it is a way you see yourself. This may be how you see yourself physically and also your opinion of who you are. Self image includes what you think you look like, how you see your personality, what you believe others think of you and the status you feel you have. Lets look at why is the Self Image that important.
Everything happens for a reason! I truly believe in this phrase. I know, I know…- some of you will say it is easier to say than to really believe and live by that, but I really do. Things happen in our lives; things that we not always agree with or don’t understand the true meaning at the time. It is hard to get our head around it, we search for “why” but sometimes one door needs to close so the other opens for us. I went through it few times… I know what I’m talking about. You feel like the world it ending and everything is against you, but in the reality you came to the end of the path and are at the crosswords where the new path starts. Sometimes we are too comfortable in the present situation, even when it is not ideal for us, and don’t want changes as they are disturbing our comfortable stagnation. How many times you complained about something but didn’t really do anything about it?!
Eventually all things fall into place. Until then, laugh at the confusion, live for the moments, and know EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON.”
— Albert Schweitzer
One of my favourite phrases and my life motto is Henry Thoreau’s “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” We much too often only dream instead of make our dreams our reality.
Is it a fear of failure? Laziness? Lack of trust in our abilities?
Why not to live your dream life now?
For sure it doesn’t just come to us or nobody serves it to us on a silver platter- it requires work, hard work and some sacrifices.
The skill of setting goals is not that easy for everybody but by following these few simple steps you can make it more achievable. Why not give it a go? Lets look here at how to set goals, or in other words, the art of making your dreams come true!
Whenever you want to achieve something, keep your eyes open, concentrate and make sure you know exactly what it is you want. No one can hit their target with their eyes closed.

From a mum to all the mums- Happy Mother’s day!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
But there’s a story behind everything. How a picture got on a wall. How a scar got on your face. Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking. But behind all your stories is always your mother’s story, because hers is where yours begin.”
― Mitch Albom, For One More Day
I have a sister, so I know-that relationship, it’s all about fairness: you want your sibling to have exactly what you have-the same amount of toys, the same number of meatballs on your spaghetti, the same share of love. But being a mother is completely different. You want your child to have more than you ever did. You want to build a fire underneath her and watch her soar. It’s bigger than words.” ― Jodi Picoult, My Sister’s Keeper
I recently had a discussion with a friend about what is more important for a success: motivation or discipline. I was talking about the motivation as a driving force to go forward but he reckons that discipline would always beat motivation. Hmmm… My first response was “But don’t you need motivation to be disciplined?” It made me thinking… what is more important for your success… Are they really two very different things?
What is discipline? What is motivation?
Ok, let’s start from definitions first. I took these ones from Wikipedia.
In my previous post, Fixed vs growth mindset, I talked about different types of mindset and why you would like to have a growth mindset. In Carol S. Dweck’s book called ” Mindset: The New Psychology of Success” she explains that while a “fixed mindset” accepts our character, intelligence, and creativity as static features which we cannot change in any way, a growth mindset loves challenge and can see failure as a lesson and opportunity to grow. The question is- how to do it? How to find a way to develop growth mindset? In this article I will show you how you can use personal development books as tools to change your mindset and help you grow as a better person.
Every one of us has a mindset, the set of established beliefs and attitudes which makes you who you are. It can be a good mindset or one that holds you back. In this post I will explain what mindset actually is and what is the difference between fixed and growth mindset.
What is a mindset?
Based on the definition in Wikipedia- “a mindset is a set of assumptions, methods, or notations held by one or more people or groups of people that is so established that it creates a powerful incentive within these people or groups to continue to adopt or accept prior behaviours, choices, or tools. This phenomenon is also sometimes described as mental inertia, “groupthink”, or a “paradigm”, and it is often difficult to counteract its effects upon analysis and decision making processes.”
Personal motivation (or self motivation) is a key to all aspects of your life. It is not an easy thing though. Remember your New Year’s Resolution? Are you still into it? Generally straight after you generate new idea you are motivated and full of energy to keep it going but soon the feeling wears off and you left without your initial enthusiasm. This is a moment when you need your self motivation the most! So what is motivation and how to get (and stay!) motivated?
Motivation can come from your outside word in a form of e.g money, grades, career or praise. Self motivation though is a feeling that comes from within you. It can be sparked by your sense of achievement, curiosity, interest or pride. It is a voice in your head whispering “you can do it”!
